Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) first flight to Paris, PK-749, landed safely at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris on January 11, after more than four years.
The passengers, PIA officials, and crew were warmly welcomed by Pakistan’s Charge d’Affaires, Ms. Huzefa Khanum, and the Pakistani community in Paris. Ms. Khanum said the return of flights to Paris was a great gift for overseas Pakistanis. She also mentioned that this would help improve the relationship between Pakistan, France, and the European Union, especially in trade, tourism, and business.
The CEO of PIA, AVM Amir Hayat, said that the airline will now operate two flights a week to Paris, on Fridays and Sundays. This will provide direct travel between Pakistan and France. He also noted that the first direct flight between the two countries started in 1966.
An Air France representative shared that it was a happy day for both countries and the relationship between them would grow further.
