Saudi Arabia’s New Rules for Umrah and Visit Visa Holders – January 2025. Saudi Arabia has announced new rules for travelers with Umrah and visit visas to prevent the spread of harmful diseases. These rules require all visitors to get the meningitis vaccine. No one will be allowed to enter Saudi Arabia without proof of having received the vaccine.

The new rules require all travelers to have the meningitis vaccine before entering Saudi Arabia. No visitor will be allowed in without proof of vaccination. The Saudi Civil Aviation Authority stressed that all airlines must make sure their passengers are vaccinated against meningitis and other diseases.

The vaccination certificate must be issued at least ten days before travel. Children under one year old are exempt from this vaccine. The Saudi Civil Aviation Authority also warned that airlines and travelers who do not follow these rules will face legal action.

Previously, Saudi Arabia required passengers from Pakistan to show a polio vaccination certificate. This rule will also apply to passengers from Afghanistan, Kenya, Congo, and Mozambique. Travelers from these countries will need to present a polio vaccination certificate.

Passengers who pass through these countries but stay in the transit area for less than 12 hours do not need the polio vaccination certificate. However, all travelers must carry the certificate when entering Saudi Arabia. The certificate must be issued at least four weeks before travel, and certificates older than six months will not be accepted.
