Registration for Ramazan package open till Feb 15: Punjab govt

LAHORE: The Punjab government has announced that individuals seeking assistance under the Nighaban Ramazan Package must register by February 15.

Additionally, registration with the Punjab Socioeconomic Registry (PSER) is mandatory to qualify for the package. Applicants can conveniently apply online through the portal at pser.punjab.gov.pk.

Presiding over a meeting on Friday, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz directed the relevant officials to ensure transparency in distributing the package, which is intended for deserving families.

“The Nighaban Ramazan Package is both a right of the underprivileged and a responsibility of the government. It must be delivered with respect and dignity, ensuring no one is forced to stand in queues to receive it,” the Chief Minister emphasized.

She also reviewed various proposals related to the package during the meeting.

MoU Signed

In a separate development, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Beijing AI Force Tech and Daewoo Pakistan to procure AI-driven machinery for solid waste management. The signing ceremony took place at the Chief Minister’s office.

The MoU was signed by AI Force Tech CEO Dr. Han Wei and Daewoo Pakistan’s Muhammad Khalid.

Later, during a meeting with a delegation led by Dr. Wei, the Chief Minister agreed on establishing an assembling and manufacturing plant for e-agriculture mechanization in Punjab.

The delegation informed the CM that Beijing AI Force Tech plans to set up a facility in Punjab to produce robotic agricultural equipment.

The meeting also discussed the use of automated robots for transportation and harvesting in the agriculture sector.

Modern AI technology will also be introduced to enhance solid waste management in Punjab.

Additionally, the Chinese company will establish an e-mechanized model farm on Lahore’s outskirts.

The 17-acre model farm will feature electric tractors, harvesters, land levelers, and other advanced machinery. A solar energy system will also be installed in the farm’s greenhouse to promote sustainability.
