Pakistan’s rising star, 22-year-old fast bowler Ihsanullah, has reversed his decision to quit the Pakistan Super League (PSL) just hours after announcing his boycott.
Initial Frustration
Ihsanullah, known for his incredible pace during PSL 8, expressed disappointment after being ignored in the PSL 10 player draft. In frustration, he announced he would not participate in future PSL tournaments.
Emotional Reaction Leads to U-Turn
Speaking to Geo Super, Ihsanullah explained that his earlier decision was made out of frustration and emotion, not careful thought. He said:
“There are still four months until PSL begins. By Allah’s will, those who didn’t select me might change their decision. My focus is on working hard and proving my worth.”
Performance and Goals
Ihsanullah had an impressive performance in PSL 8, taking 22 wickets with an average of 15.77 and an economy rate of 7.59. Addressing concerns about his bowling speed, he clarified:
“I’m bowling consistently at 130-135 km/h, and it looks closer to 140 km/h on TV. In a recent Peshawar match, I clocked 142 km/h. I aim to improve further with upcoming domestic tournaments.”
Apology and Future Plans
Ihsanullah apologized for his earlier statement, calling it a mistake made in anger.
“I regret my words and apologize to the PSL franchises. I’m focused on working hard to earn my place back.”
The young pacer is now looking forward to proving his talent in the coming months.
